FAQs regarding Lynchburg Family Dentistry

Frequently Asked Questions Lynchburg Family Dentistry

What dental procedures do you provide?

I am trained in a variety of dental procedures, you can see the page, What We Do, for a complete overview and description of treatments we provide.

At what age should I bring my child to the dentist?

We recommend that you bring your child to see us by age 1.  An early visit will help your child become more comfortable with the dental environment.  At this early age, we can usually give you advice on how to best take care of your child's teeth and stop small issues before they become big problems.

Do I need to get dental x-rays taken?

We do need to have current dental x-rays in order to provide a complete examination.  These can be x-rays that were recently taken at another office, or we can take them here.  All of our x-rays are digital, which allows us to use much less radiation than in the past.

Will my insurance pay for dental treatment?

Most insurances will pay 100% for preventive services such as exams, x-rays, and cleanings.  Insurances usually only pay a percentage of dental treatment, usually between 10% and 80% of the treatment cost.  We can electronically send your insurance planned treatment and they will mail you an estimate of what they will cover.

Do you do cosmetic dentistry?

Yes, I perform a wide range of cosmetic dental services, such as veneers, bonding, whitening, and reshaping.

I get nervous about seeing the dentist, how can you help?

Please let me know that you're nervous.  Many times, as long as there is mutual understandings, we can work past any anxiety you may feel.  I strive to listen to any feedback you can provide on how to make you feel more calm about your dental visit; please discuss your past dental experiences with me so that I can help.

Do you see patients who haven't been to the dentist in a very long time?

Yes!  We love to see patients that have been putting off a dental visit for whatever reason.  Working at the clinic in downtown Martinsville, VA gave me experience dealing with a wide range of problems that can occur when you've avoided the dentist.  I promise to do my best to get you back on the right track towards optimal dental health.

What payment options do you accept?

We accept any major credit card, NFC payments (such as Google Wallet and Apple Pay), checks, and cash.  We also accept Care Credit, which allows you to make no-interest payments over a certain period of time, such as 0% for 12 months.
